How Mercy Home Heroes Hosted 10+ Events and Raised Over $1 Million—All on One Platform
See how consolidating events, donor management, and fundraising into one platform helped Mercy Home Heroes save time, eliminate manual work, and scale supporter engagement across major initiatives.
Overview
Mercy Home Heroes supports the work of Mercy Home for Boys & Girls which has given kids more than a safe place to live for over a century. They offer the therapy needed to move forward alongside practical tools like education, life skills, and career exploration that helps young people create strong, independent futures. Mercy Home drives impact through donor-funded programs and signature events, engaging thousands of supporters each year to sustain life-changing care.

The Challenge
Before partnering with haku, Mercy Home was juggling 2 disconnected platforms for fundraising and engagement, making it difficult to get the full picture of their efforts or scale their impact.
They needed a simpler way to manage their growing workload. With 10+ events and multiple fundraising initiatives each year, Mercy Home was raising money, but losing valuable time to manual processes. They needed a platform that could simplify their operations, automate routine tasks, and give them more time to focus on creating real impact for their kids.
The Solution
When Mercy Home partnered with haku in 2024, they were looking for a way to lighten the load on their team. Almost immediately, consolidating their tools made a huge difference. They were able to stop using HubSpot and another fundraising tool, saving money and eliminating extra steps from their workflow.
This year in 2025, they brought in more than $1 million from their Bank of America Chicago Marathon Charity Partner fundraising initiative, and used haku to manage donations for more than 10 other events.
Today, haku serves as their all-in-one platform, providing powerful reporting, unlimited email marketing, custom branding, CRM, blogs, ticketed events, donor stewardship, automated fundraising tasks & more. They also rely on haku for their Mercy Home Heroes event website. Like all haku clients, they can launch a fully custom site built directly on the platform, at no additional cost.
“Before haku, we were managing events and fundraising across multiple platforms, which required significant time and manual work. By moving everything into one system, we eliminated tools like HubSpot and a fundraising platform—saving money and giving our team more time to focus on making a real impact in the lives of the kids we serve."
